AGARTALA, June 21 (TIWN): Amid ongoing violence, the State Election Commission has assured a Free and Fair poll in this upcoming By-Election on 23rd June.
Addressing media, RO, IAS Sailesh Yadav said, this poll is going to be more strict and fair than the 2018 Assembly polls.
“No outsider will be allowed inside the booths. There will be continuous webcasting inside the booths and the outside will be videographed so that no outsider can force the voters to vacate the queue. Strict measurements will be taken on the poll day and house-to-house threatening culture will be dealt with strictly. I appeal to the voters not to be afraid of any miscreant and to come out to vote”, said Sailesh Yadav.
The statement came from State Election Commission as after 2018 Assembly poll, no the election in Tripura could be free and fair so far.
