AGARTALA, June 16 (TIWN): West Agartala PS OC, Police Officer Subrata Chakraborty allegedly molested Congress Woman leader Szarita Laitphlang during Congress's protest in front of the Secretariat on Thursday. Congress had organized the protest voicing against ED’s interrogation of Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. Later, Police also detained some of the Congress activists. The protest turned disturbing after male police were used to prevent women activists and during the protest, Szarita Laitphlang alleged that she was assaulted by OC-Subrata Chakraborty. He allegedly had touched on an inappropriate place on her body. While addressing she also had broken down into tears, swearing on Goddess Tripura Sundari to unseat the anti-women, torturous BJP Govt.
Addressing the media Laitphlang further said, “OC Subrata Chakraborty has assaulted me and there are mostly male police officials and many of them have assaulted our women activists. I can’t tolerate that on the land of Ma Tripura Sundari, a woman would be assaulted. I have been insulted today. I want justice from the people of Tripura today. Give me justice. Today it happened to me and tomorrow it will happen with your daughter….”
