AGARTALA, June 14 (TIWN): Workload of Tripura Medical College TMC interns is high as per duty hours, and centering this the interns called for a work strike in TMC. The work strike started on Monday demanding a rise in stipend. The interns alleged that they are receiving 14.5 and amid it, the college are slashing amounts showing various hostel charges. The intern informed the matter to TMC authority several times but no initiative the authority has taken yet. Oppositely the College authority had shown excuses of Fund Crisis to the interns.

The College authority asked them to withdraw their protest as the authorities are getting pressured by higher authorities. The interns who are continuing to protest said before the media that they will not withdraw their protest and work strike until their stipend is hiked.

The interns alleged that the TMC hostel is suffering massively due to the water crisis, resulting the Junior students facing trouble before going to College.
