AGARTALA, May 20 (TIWN): Fake currency triggers tension in Tripura.
As per local newspaper reports, especially in Khowai, Rs. 500 and Rs. 2000’s fake currencies have spread heavily and the police have failed to trace any clue behind such criminal activities.
The ribbons across the notes are of green colour and when turning the notes around, the ribbons are not reflecting with green and blue shades.
The businessmen of Khowai alleged that through customers they got such notes and when they are going to banks, they are unable to deposit them. It has been suspected there might be an international smuggling racket behind such activities.
