AGARTALA, Feb 12 (TIWN): Former BJP MLAs Sudip Barman and Asish Saha have received a massive welcome at the Agartala MBB Airport. A heavy gathering was witnessed in the Airport premise as the heavyweight leaders who earlier quitted Congress and established BJP in power returned to the Congress party after being frustrated with BJP’s misruling and failure to fulfill Vision Document. While joining at Delhi, Sudip Roy Barman commented that “Congress is in my DNA”. Today Congress as well as many BJP activists were seen in MBB Airport to welcome Tripura Congress’s new faces Sudip Roy Barman and Aisish Saha. Reacting to the supporters' enthusiasm, Congress former President Gopal Roy told media that it is just a trailer and the main picture is yet to be seen. He said many more MLAs are in the row to join Congress. A bike rally had followed Sudip Barman and Asish Saha’s vehicle up to Post Office Chowmuhani Congress Bhawan. Thousands of people have come forward to support the rally, giving a major challenge to the ruling BJP for 2023 poll.
Tripura Congress Incharge Ajay Kumar, Tripura Congress President Birjit Sinha were also present on the occasion who had accompanied the newly joined Congress leaders during the journey from Delhi to Tripura.
While addressing rally at Post Office Chowmuhani, Sudip Barman said, “I told my wife long back if I die in the middle of the journey, my body should be brought to Congress Bhawan. It was also the wish of Dilip Sarkar but alas, his wish could not be fulfilled. I invite MLA Surajit Datta and others to come back. Congress is the party which is in our DNA and it is the party which freed India from British”.
