BELONIA (South Tripura), Feb 11 (TIWN): In a barbaric attack, a CPI-M party member Benu Biswas was lynched allegedly BJP party leaders and members. The incident took place on Thursday around night 8 PM but so far police failed to detain any culprit even after FIR was lodged. Seeking just and immediate arrests of the culprits, local people along with the victim family members blocked road at Rajnagar-Kamalpur Bazar route of Belonia subdivision. The agitating locals said, until the culprits are arrested, they will not withdraw the blockade.

The murder was allegedly done by BJP members under the leadership of 1) Joydeb Sarkar, a member of Belonia sub-division’s Raj Nagar Panchayat Samity, and another local BJP leader 2) Manik Sarkar.
The deceased was 40 years old, was beaten up in Kamalpur market of Belonia. Locals rushed Benu Biswas to the hospital and the on-duty Doctor declared him dead.
