AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN): With the quitting of BJP MLAs’ Sudip Roy Barman and Asish Saha who left for Delhi along with 3 more MLAs have given a shocker to the State BJP. Citing the reason behind quitting BJP, MLA Sudip Roy Barman said, “These BJP people have fooled the people of Tripura. There is no match between the promise given before the 2018 Election and the ongoing situation. Media is suppressed, tortures are going on the press and a suffocating situation has gripped the State”. With Asish Das, Asish Saha, Sudip Roy Barman, a total of 3 MLAs have already resigned from Tripura BJP and now 3 more MLAs were spotted in Delhi with Sudip Roy Barman and Asish Saha. Now out of these 6 MLAs, Asish Das had joined TMC earlier though nowadays, he is not active in TMC.
BJP’s relationship with IPFT is also in turmoil and one of the IPFT MLAs resigned to join the TIPRA Motha party. Rumors are active that Sudip Roy Barman group will join Congress and align with Tipra Motha in the 2023 poll.
The reason behind such rebellions inside the BJP has been only CM Biplab Deb who allegedly was running a Dictator regime and today Sudip Barman has labeled the BJP Govt as “One Man Party” where legislators have no right to exercise their power.
“The entire administration is functioned by one man and a reign of terror is going on. To revive the democracy in the State, we had to take the decision”, said Sudip Roy Barman after quitting the BJP.
Barman said, “Democracy has been murdered in Tripura by the one-man regime. Press voices are suppressed, tortured. An OSD from other state write the news headline of newspapers”.
“No democracy is existing in this state. Through autocracy, a state can never progress, can never develop. All the promises that had been given by BJP before Election are resulting in hollows. These people have fooled the people of Tripura and their intention was never to deliver the good but to loot money”, said Barman.
“Only a one-man system is functioning the entire administration and the Ministers, MLAs have no freedom. So, to revive the Democracy, we have taken the decision”, said Sudip Roy Barman.
