AGARTALA, Feb 4 (TIWN): Tripura trade Union placed deputation to Labour department demanding wages hike of Brick Kiln labourers.
A trade union leader said, “Since 2018 not a single wage was hiked of Brick kiln labourers, before 2018 under leftist era several times demanding wage hike deputation was placed and after meeting every year wages of labourers was hiked. But under the BJP-IPFT aligned Govt, around 50,000 labourers are directly or indirectly involved in 350 Brick Factories but yet not a Single wage hiked”.
Under this COVID situation the labours are going through crisis, several times season wise the Tripura trade Union placed deputation to Labour Department but the state Govt and the department playing silent role, said the Trade union leader
It is alleged that the govt is playing a negligent role as many laborers are getting injured in the workplace and many are dying but they are not getting any assistance. The trade union demanded 20% wage must be hiked in this season.
