AGARTALA, Jan 23 (TIWN): Tripura former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has condemned Modi Govt’s bizarre decision of cancellation of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose’s tableau on the occasion of Republic Day in Delhi. Manik Sarkar said, “It is however not an isolated incident but the same happened with Kerala, Tamil Nadu-like states. Wherever the oppositions are ruling, the Central Govt tried to suppress the voice. All the Govts facing the cancellation of tableaus have protested. Netaji Subash Chandra Bose after all was a man of Bengal. He was born in Odessa but was brought up in Bengal and completed his College there. When a nation is celebrating 75th Independence year and Netaji’s 126th birth anniversary is being held, the move from the Central Govt is disheartening the spirit”.Trinamool Congress also has slammed Modi Govt over the cancellation of the tableau of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose prepared by the Bengal Govt.

Reacting to the media over the stormy criticism, Subal Bhowmik said, “People of Tripura and the nation are unable to believe that such a shocking rejection of Bose’s legacy’s representation was rejected. Netaji Subash Chandra Bose was not a figure of Bengal but the biggest National leader and freedom fighter ever. In Tripura also, Netaji Jayanti has been celebrated with full enthusiasm. But the way Netaji’s tableau was rejected in Delhi, it is shocking”.
“Surely the Modi Govt is trying to erase Netaji Subash Chandra Bose like great persons’ names from the history”, added Bhowmik.
