AGARTALA, Jan 13 (TIWN): Children across state, especially in rural areas prepares Burir-Ghor on Thursday.

Before the sunrise, the burir-ghors will be burnt as a part of celebrating Poush Sankranti.

Burir-ghor is a home made with coconut tree leaves and it’s burnt on the last date of ‘Poush’ month.

Apart from that, across house to house Makar Sankranti celebrations will be marked the traditional occasions.

All Bengali families women are now busy making pithas for their family members. Holiday with sweets has cheered the children of the houses too.
