AGARTALA, Jan 11 (TIWN): Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Tuesday while addressing in a CPI-M programme at Agartala Town Hall said merger of banks will result in no bank for the poor and rural areas.
“Merger means, no small bank will exist and also it means Banks will be only for the rich people. The daily workers will lose works and have no capacity or chance to facilitate themselves the services”, said Sarkar.
Manik Sarkar further congratulated Tripura Bank employees for organizing protests against the privatization, merge of banks. Sarkar said, such successful observation of strike was not seen in Tripura even though the previous Left Govt was totally liberate and never tried to disturb any protest or movement.
