AGARTALA, Oct 30 (TIWN): BJP Govt’s drama over TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee’s rally continues and after cancelling two rallies, now various problems are being created by the Govt with different excuses to disrupt TMC’s programme. TMC's rally venue was cancelled in last moment today which has erupted resentment. TMC members have sat in protest and arguments continue with police. Whereas it is mandatory to inform about changes atleast 48 hours prior to the program, Tripura police cancelled TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee's rally infront of Rabindra Bhavan a day before its scheduled time. Giving the excuse of law and order and Covid protocols, the TMC members were stopped from arranging for tomorrow's rally infront of Rabindra Bhavan on Saturday afternoon. A huge police force led by SDPO Ramesh Yadav reached the program venue and stopped all the TMC members working there.
While talking to media, SDPO Ramesh Yadav said, "It is the heart of the city and many people are going to attend tomorrow's rally, so it is not safe to arrange the rally here. We are not cancelling the rally, we are asking them to shift the curriculum to Astabal field, keeping the safety issue in our mind." But the question arises, if this was the reason then why Tripura police granted permission for this rally before and now after all the arrangements they are asking them to shift the place? The Trinamool leaders claimed that this whole incident is a drama staged by ruling BJP govt where they used state police to satisfy their political interest.
TMC leader Kunal Ghosh also said that, this order is complete illegal and administrative failure. They said that they refused to accept such illegal orders. Termed it as "Jungle Raaj" by BJP govt.
