‘Adjournment Motion Notice’ on deteriorating law and order was denied by newly appointed Speaker Ratan Chakraborty in today’s Assembly Session' : Former CM Manik Sarkar

AGARTALA, Sep 24 (TIWN): Today was the first day of the Assembly Session, after Ratan Chakraborty elected as new Speaker in this session MLA Sudhan Das brought ‘Adjournment Motion Notice’ which was denied by the speaker allegedly. The main topic of the notice was about the deterioration of law and order in the state as the physical attack has increased on opposition leaders, ministers and supporters and recently ruling party also set fire on opposition’s houses and CPIM party offices. In single day various places including Media houses were attacked, vandalized and also Journalists were attacked. All those burning issues, the opposition wanted to raise in today’s assembly keeping all the other topic aside but the Speaker Ratan Chakraborty denied to raise this issue in Assembly Session, alleged former leader Manik Sarkar.

The speaker told oppositions that CM, BIplab Deb will discuss over law and order situation but opposition's question remained unheard. Manik Sarkar asked before media after Assembly Session, "What will the CMdiscuss without listening to the opposition who are being attacked?"

Sarkar said that the Speaker could not play neutral role and Co-operate with the oppositions to speak in today’s Assembly session.
