AGARTALA, Sep 22 (TIWN): Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers have claimed that Tripura Govt has misinterpreted the High Court's verdict on SSA's regularization. Calling a press conference at Agartala Press Club, the SSA teachers said that they do not agree with the decision taken by Tripura Govt which is a deprivation to the teachers. Talking to the media, SSA teacher Bastab Debbarma said, "We can't not accept the decision. We will file a Condemn of Court petition in this regard. We will fight legally and also through democratic movement. But, one thing I want to say here is that we never expected such a decision from this Govt". Referring to Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath's claim of a regular pay scale to be given to all teachers, Bastab Debbarma said that such claims of the Minister have no connection with the reality. Already people are getting equal pay but the Court asked the State to permanently regularize the teachers and so the Govt has to regularize all teachers without discriminations.

It can be mentioned here that BJP before 2018 poll had promised all contractual employees of the state that once BJP comes to power Govt will regularize all including NHM, SSA, RMSA, Health and all other Depts. On that time, BJP did not mention any barrier about the qualification of the employees.

Before 2018 Poll, BJP and IPFT leaders including the incumbent CM and Education Minister joined SSA's "Hunger Strike".

The statement from SSA Association came after Cabinet had taken final decision over SSA's regularization on the background High Court's order.

After Cabinet meeting, Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced that only TET qualified SSA teachers who are 45 in numbers will be regularized from the date of 23/02/2021 (day of High Court's verdict), 54 teachers who are only Madhyamik or 12 passed without any professional qualification will have to undergo NIOS run necessary courses and rest of the teachers will get regular scale and 3% increment per year. However, Ratan Lal Nath said that "Court has given authority to the Govt to take the regularization decision and thus Tripura Govt has framed a scheme for the teachers' regularization". He also said that the Tripura Govt is incapable of doing more than this.  On being asked by journalists about future possibilities of the irregular teachers Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that as soon as any teacher will qualify TET, s/he will be regularized and this provision has been kept under the scheme of SSA's regularization. In SSA there are a total of 5176 teachers and among the primary teachers are 2634 and upper primary are 2542.
