AGARTALA, Sep 21 (TIWN): Confusion which was created during the last 6 months of Tripura High Court's verdict on SSA's regularization, Tripura Cabinet finally has taken the decision to implement the order, utilizing fully the High Court given rights to the State Govt to frame rules while regularizing. But overall, the Cabinet could not give good news for the majority of the SSA teachers who were expecting regularization of all teachers. Education cum Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath has briefed that the complex situation erupted due to 3 important points given by Tripura High Court (in Para 49, 53, 54) which was followed while regularizing. As per the Minister's statement, it was understood that TET qualified SSA teachers who are 45 in numbers will be regularized from the date of 23/02/2021 (day of High Court's verdict), 54 teachers who are only Madhyamik or 12 passed without any professional qualification will have to undergo NIOS run necessary courses and rest of the teachers will get regular scale and 3% increment per year.
On being asked by journalists about future possibilities of the irregular teachers Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that as soon as any teacher will qualify TET, s/he will be regularized and this provision has been kept under the scheme of SSA's regularization.
In SSA there are a total of 5176 teachers and among the primary teachers are 2634 and upper primary are 2542.
Main Points of Cabinet Decision
1) Tripura Govt has announced a scheme for SSA's regularization as per High Court's order and TET qualification for SSA teachers are must to be regularized,
2) The teachers who are not qualified will still be regularized if they can qualify TET. For now, they will get regular pay scales along with 3% hikes annually,
3) 54 teachers are very poorly qualified and the Govt will organize free education under NIOS and after they acquire their qualification, they will get regular pay scales.
