AGARTALA, Sep 20 (TIWN): Tribute was paid to slain TV journalist Santanu Bhoumik in Agartala Press Club.

After 4 years of the mysterious lynching murder case, where the ruling IPFT party's workers were allegedly involved are yet roaming free.

No justice was given to Santanu Bhoumik after 4 years of the murder.

Centering the murder of Santanu Bhoumik state Tripura had undergone heavy political turmoil in 2017-18 pre-poll period and the state journalists on that time had demanded CBI investigation in his murder case but after the case was handed-over to CBI when BJP, IPFT parties formed a joint Govt in 2018, the entire issue gradually resulted in shocks for the journalists. It was realized that BJP and IPFT had deceived the journalists in the name of CBI investigation and used state journalists' sentiments centering Santanu's murder. Simply, the murder turned as BJP's 2018 poll tool.

In 2017, two Journalists were killed in Tripura within 2 months but Santanu murder case is far from justice.

Santanu was covering pre-poll violence at Jirania and died due to access bleeding, resulting from repeated hits on his head.
