AGARTALA, Aug 28 (TIWN): TMC celebrated its Foundation Day at circuit house in Agartala with zeal and enthusiasm by raising slogans and holding party banner. MP Shantunu Sen and TMC leader Kunal Ghosh and ground level leaders of TMC were present during the programme. But in the BJP ruled state, after TMC held a massive rally, the event could not escape violence as BJP held an unprecedented attack on the TMC which left 1 critical.

Yesterday, Centering TMCP’s Foundation Day a girl student named Solanki Sengupta who was promoting TMCP in College was kidnapped by ABVP and Yuva Morcha members from college premises. They beaten her up and snatched her Phone.

Reacting over the incident MP Shantunu Sen said, “We are already holding Tripura’s soil and if yesterday’s kidnapping incident repeats again, if BJP miscreants hold an attack on TMC’s programme then TMC will not tolerate".

“After BJP came into power the way the BJP govt suppressing opposition party’s voice, Press’s voice and harassing common life for raising voice, people will give their answer in 2023. Tripura’s people will see development with the help of Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and MP Abhishek Banerjee and state will be freed in 2023”, said MP Shantunu Sen.

After the programme, a rally was conducted led by thousands of people and then BJP held brutal attack in Badharghat. Police rushed to the spot and hospitalized the injured man Subhankar Debnath.

TMC MP Santanu Sen then sat on National Highway and blocked it for a long time in protest against BJP's continuous attacks.
