Congress condemns arrests of Congress activists

AGARTALA, Aug 15 (TIWN): In another shocking incident it has been known that Tripura Police have arrested Congress rally participants in Belonia. It was not a protest rally or political rally but just a rally with Indian flags in hands to mark the Independence Day on behalf of Congress party.
The Congress rally was less-crowded and locally organized with Indian flags in hands. This is a part of Congress's annual function which every year has been observed but today police have arrested the Congress members and asked them to go with them, alleging the party must take permission from police.
A police official was arguing with the Congress activists as if he is an anti-Congress party worker.
The Congress's detained leaders asked, "The country was freed by Congress and today Congress activists are arrested, Shame on this Govt".
