AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): Students led by NSUI have gheraoed Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath's residence on Tuesday in protest against alleged Result-Scam and discrimination in marks distribution. This year no examination was held in Tripura due to Covid but still around 20% students could not pass. From the very day of the result publication, students have been alleging that they have faced massive discrimination by the board and many students who failed in Class-9 were announced as passed whereas the students who passed in Class-9, many of them were declared as fail. In the last few days various road blockade, protests were organized statewide but Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath remained silent. On Monday, on being asked, Ratan Lal Nath claimed that everything is okay. In protest, today students have gathered at Ratan Lal Nath's residence. They raised the slogan "Education Minister Haay Haay.....".
NSUI leader Samrat Roy also warned the Govt that students will go on strike if the board does not announce all students as passed.
The failed students also raised the question, how can they pass the exam in the next attempt when no class is being held and in this Covid situation and restriction, how will the students study amid schools being closed ?
Road Blockade also continues at Nabincherra under pecharthal R D Block. In a similar manner protests have escalated from various corners of the state.
