AGARTALA, July 30 (TIWN): While reacting over the ongoing controversy centering I-PAC team members' illegal detention, Ratan Lal Nath claimed nobody of the I-PAC team was arrested in Tripura and Pijush Biswas led I-PAC team members' bail appeal was a drama staged at the CJM Court yesterday but it has been known from learned Advocate that the Govt Lawyer that is the Public Prosecutor (PP) had appealed the Court not to bail out the I-PAC team members who were in house detention for 5 days at Hotel Woodland Park. Pijush Biswas said, "The PP had first requested the Court not to entertain the plea of the petitioners and then no ground could be show, he appealed to the Court that the 23 members of the I-PAC should not be bailed out unconditionally but I argued that the nature of allegation is baseless. Judge has rejected the Govt side's appeal and accepted our petition".

When on the one side, Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath claimed that nobody was arrested and a "drama" was staged at the CJM Court, Adv Pijush Biswas said that legal actions will be taken against the illegal steps taken by the State Govt in this matter, because the detained persons had Covid negative reports with them.

The I-PAC team was only released on July 28 after Trianmool leaders came to Tripura but a massive security force was still deployed across the Hotel Woodland Park area to keep watch on the team members. The I-PAC team was subjected to heavy mental tortures and Pijush Biswas said that action will be taken against such illegal moves of the BJP Govt and a petition in this regard will be filed in the High Court. 

"After having Covid negative reports, how can such an illegal detention be held? They were allowed to move from Delhi only after showing negative test reports in their hands. Moreover, 3 days before the FIR, they were detained under which jurisdiction ?", asked Pijush Biswas.
