AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): 10323 Teachers who were terminated by the State Govt under Supreme Court's order have not received any termination letter yet but the teachers are jobless for the last 17 months. Various organizations of the 10323 teachers group are organizing protests in various means. One such organization in its social media page shared the Supreme Court's judgement's portion which clearly shows that the Court has said "the service of unchallenged Teachers stands protected". The terminated teachers have asked Tripura Govt to clarify the stand of the Supreme Court. It said, "As per para 127 of High court/supreme Court judgement ,in the recent verdict given by supreme Court in AJOY DEBBARMA case the service of unchallenged Teachers stands protected and state is duty bound for proper & effective implementation of the court order. Now, why is the Education Dept not implementing the court order? This is the biggest question & confusion ?" Earlier also with similar questions, the teachers under "Joint Movement Committee" had submitted a set of legal queries to the Education Dept but it could not clarify the legal questions.
On the other hand, pressure is high upon the BJP Govt to save the 10323 teachers' lives and livelihoods as the party as opposition promised the teachers before election that their livelihood will meet a "permanent solution" if BJP is voted to power. Till now the death toll of the 10323 teachers have risen to 104 and no solution could be brought yet by the BJP Govt in the teachers' cases. The jobless situation has left the teachers under severe crisis for last 17 months.
