AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN):Two drug traders were arrested from Abhoynagar area. On Wednesday local people first caught them red-handed and then handed-over to police. Reportedly the two drug traders have been running their trade in the area for a long time.
Getting information, police team rushed to the spot and arrested two youths. The one arrested youth has been identified as Vicky Shau for being involved with smuggling, resident of Vidyasagar Palli, Abhoynagar.
17 containers filled with brown sugar were recovered from them.
Illegal drug smuggling to other various illegal activities are at full wave in Tripura. Earlier CM, Biplab Deb had claimed that Tripura is free from Drug smuggling and has successfully reduced drug smuggling in state, but it has been noticed that drug smugglers have made the state a "Drug Emperor”.
Drug mafias are running their illicit business flexibly without any disturbances, which is affecting Tripura’s youth. Showing thumbs to "Nesha Mukt Tripura", drug traders are running their business.
