AGARTALA, June 16 (TIWN): For last 2 years, due to Covid-19 and down in income, livelihoods have been hit in the state Tripura which was already facing a crisis since the BJP led State Govt had increased taxes, hiked prices and unemployment rate soared high. This year, the profit has downed at record level and businessmen throughout Agartala city have alleged their massive losses in this annual festival of "Shashsthi". "Shashsthi" is celebrated once in a year when mothers bless their children and also son-in-laws are blessed through the ceremony but unlike other years, this year the sales remained at loss. Talking to a businessman at Gol Bazar he said, "Not only today, but centering this curfew middle class families are the worst sufferers. It is becoming impossible even to continue the business".

Fish sellers also alleged the same. Talking to a meat seller, he said at 10 O'Clock that not a single customer came to his shop then.
Overall, the market remained gloomy and the public are also buying at a very minimum amount due to tight financial conditions they are undergoing. For the poor category's people, Shashsthi celebration is now a dream as they are facing troubles managing two meals.
