Increasing theft, robberies in Tripura : Big Question Mark on Law & Order

AGARTALA, June 12 (TIWN): Amid corona curfew theft cases have spiked up in the state, since last few days many theft cases reported at Belonia PS and various questions are raising on the surveillance of Police amid corona curfew. Resentment is brewing on the police role among Belonia citizens over increasing theft cases.

Another theft case reported at Belonia PS, a group of three thieves’ stolen bike from Mridul Kanti Das’s house late Friday night. The theft incident occurred at Banspara Colony area of Belonia town and among 3 thieves the two entered the house and stole Dilip Sarkar’s splendour bike. The bike owner, Dilip Sarkar used to be rented in Mridul Kanti’s house and the entire theft incident was caught in CCTV footage.

Reportedly, the stolen splendour bike registered No- TR03D5682 was kept in the yard which was stolen by a group of 3 thieves. The house owner Mridul Das and the bike owner, Dilip Sarkar rushed to the Bilonia PS and lodged a written complaint about the theft incident.

Police have taken a case and started an investigation into the theft incident based on CCTV footage.
