Robbery in SBI Kunjaban again: Police playing the role of mute spectator

Agartala, December 15 (TIWN): In a daring bank heist, the Kunjaban branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) was once again robbed late on Sunday. The robbers managed to rob only two monitors leaving behind the cash as they were unable to open the safe where the cash was kept.

After opening of the bank on Monday one employee noticed that one of the bank window was open. Immediately the employee informed the G.B. out post police station. After getting the information police along with dog squad rushed to the spot and started investigation. A police official said that the bank robbery took place under the envelop of darkness.

Taking advantage of the darkness, the robbers executed their plan and broke open the bank. The official further said that the bank heist was a well thought out plan as the robbers came equipped with all the paraphernalia required to carry out the robbery. However there is a conflicting version as to why the robbers could not take away the cash which was kept at the chamber of the safe. Interestingly, the SBI Kunjaban branch did not have any security guards at night. "We are investigating the case, we have found some finger prints which will be sent to the forensic department. A hunt is on to arrest the robbers", said cops.

Tripura Police are yet to make any headway in the daring robbery case. Most of the CCTVs in the area could not capture the incident. The spate of robberies has raised serious concerns about the security situation of the capital. Police are yet to find any clue to the outrageous robbery of the SBI previously. The bank which had a limit of Rs 8 lakh as the maximum deposit per day but on the fateful day the branch had almost double the amount.

Earlier, the Kunjaban branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) was robbed late night but the robbers only managed to rob two CCTV cameras.
