AGARTALA, June 4 (TIWN): JMC 10323 teachers observed Black Day as another teacher named, Litan Nama, terminated from Apanchara Higher Secondary School died on Thursday taking the death toll to 101. The JMC gathered before Shiksha Bhavan putting on Black masks to protest the inhuman role of the state government.

Condemning the dumb role of the chief minister and the education minister, the teachers said, “The Government is helping us in no way to cope up with the COVID situation despite terminating us illegally. Our colleagues are dying without the necessary treatment, some are facing difficulties to arrange food. Several teachers committed suicide over debt. We condemn the inhuman role the government is playing on us and we want to ask it that how many more deaths it wants to see? ”

“The BJP promised us to recruit us in Group C and Group D posts but after using us as the vote banks it has harassed us, produced violent attack on our families and when we wanted to meet Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who sat with us during our protest before the 2018 Assembly election, our ugly CM himself sent police and disrupted our movement which we were carrying out democratically for 51 days. What else does he want?”

“The movement is getting stronger and we are not moving backward”, the teachers threatened.
