AGARTALA, May 26(TIWN): Late Swadesh Debbarma’s son, Bishutosh Debbarma lodged a complaint against Harekrishna Bhowmik and Rahul Roy in Nagichhara 4th Ward of Malayanagar Gram Panchayat under Srinagar PS for allegedly occupying his vast land and selling it to a Chakma family.

According to Bishutosh he never sold his land. As he is residing in Agartala now, Bishutosh could not go to visit the land for few months due to the pandemic.

Taking leverage of his absence, Harekrishna Bhowmik and Rahul Roy allegedly occupied his land and claimed that Bishutosh sold the plot to them, and sold it to a Chakma family after which a few Chakma families started occupying the land. However being asked by the residents of the area, the Chakma family could not show any legal paper of the land or when it was sold.     

Suspecting the land mafia’s role, the locals in the area informed the matter to the landowner, Bishutosh Debbarma. Bishutosh soon rushed to the spot with the legal papers, spoke to the media about it, and lodged a complaint at Srinagar PS. The owner also made a complaint to the District Magistrate.
