AGARTALA, May 20 (TIWN): BJP's ally, ruling IPFT Party has called for a 24 hours strike in the ADC area after Minister NC Debbarma was attacked by TIPRA Motha workers at Jampuijala yesterday with "Go Back" slogan. This incident happened amid ongoing post poll violence in Tripura ADC. 

The Minister alleged, over hundreds of homes were burnt, destroyed since the ADC Election result and yesterday's attack on NC Debbarma was also a part of it. 

Today also, an MLA was attacked in Madwai, though TIPRA Motha Chairman Pradyot Manikya has expelled various party workers and handed over the culprits to police. 

"This attack was pre-planned and to defame the senior most leader like NC Debbarma this barbaric attack took place.........NC Debbarma is the most intellectual leader among us, was the Director of All India Radio too........We strongly condemn such ongoing hooliganism in state", Mebar Jamatia said. 

"We, the IPFT still have strongholds in the ADC areas.........", he added.

Mebar Jamatia also appealed for peace on 22nd May during the Strike and ensured on behalf of IPFT, peace will be fully maintained.
