AGARTALA, May 10 (TIWN): After the first Covid Wave ended in 2020, now the second wave has been started inviting major financial troubles for the daily workers. In this condition, Biplab Deb led Govt though hyping on vaccine purchasing as Central Govt has failed to provide free vaccine to the whole nation, inside the state people are in heavy financial trouble whereas to help them no fund is left. Holding a press meet, vehicle drivers have told the media about their financial problems and also demanded that the State Govt should take steps to exempt interest imposed by the Finance Company amid Covid 19 and also no pressure should be given on vehicles for that as income of the workers have become low. The vehicle workers also said that last year in Covid-19, police to administration all had used the vehicles but no bill has been cleared yet. On the other side passengers' numbers have become very low and after 6 pm, no vehicle can ply. In this condition, the drivers have sought Govt's help and clearance of all pending bills.

Interestingly, recently vehicle drivers had blocked the Longtharai Valley national highway protesting against unpaid bills of CM's rally which the BJP workers used during ADC Poll counting.

Before the Modi Era Northeast States' funding was as per 90:10 ratio where only 10% had to be carried by the states and in cases of vaccination, not only Northeast but the whole nation was Centre's responsibility but now though over Rs. 133 crores are used from state budget to purchase vaccine, Tripura Govt is left without fund to clear the poor vehicle workers pending bills.
