AGARTALA, April 28 (TIWN): With the deadly COVID-19 wave in nation, over 3000 people have died in a single day raising concerns for the COVID-situation. In Tripura positivity rate was high than before, though public yet to cooperate with the administration. In the meanwhile, vaccination drive has been continuing in state and as per Govt's claim, state has topped in vaccination drive. This is the seventh straight day that over three lakh cases have been recorded in India, the second worst-hit country after the US. The fresh deaths, marking the deadliest day of the pandemic in the country, take its total fatalities to 2,01,187.The explosion in Covid cases and deaths in India in the second wave, which has left the public healthcare system crippled, has prompted many nations, including the US, to offer help.

The country recorded 3,60,960 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the total tally of cases to 1,79,97,267.

India's Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7 last year, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 28,27,03,789 samples have been tested up to April 27 with 17,23,912 samples being tested on Tuesday.
