AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): As COVID cases are spiking high, Law Minister Ratanlal Nath has said that from lockdown to any decision can be taken by the Govt at any time because of the urgency of the situation. "We are not announcing Lockdown for now as our state's conditions are better but it does not mean that any decision is static. Due to emergency, our decisions may change. It's a global and national emergency afterall". Tripura right now has been observing night curfew and due to economic and social reasons, lockdown has not been imposed, when COVID positivity rates are still less. But yesterday, giving a signal, the Minister has said that "No Lockdown" is not a permanent decision and it may change if situation demands. On the other side, 5% passengers arriving in Agartala through Airways were detected as COVID positive which has become a matter of concern as passengers also coming through Roadways, Railways.

The Minister also said that this pre-board examinations are also important as in future what will happen nobody knows.

"Country's condition is not good along with the whole world. Our (Tripura) condition is yet good but the cases should not be increased. We don't want a single student or citizen would suffer..........Jaan hai toh Jahan hai", Nath said.

He also said that there is nothing to stage protest but it is all about safety. Many students want examinations should be held offline and many want it online and many want exams to be cancelled but our first priority will be safety from COVID.
