AGARTALA, April 23 (TIWN): Due to lack of enough security deployment mass gathering was observed in IGM hospital like everyday. Last time in 2020 huge numbers of TSR personnel were deployed to control the gathering but this year no such attempt was glimpsed, Through TSR personnel were seen but they are at a limited number. In absence of police, ruling BJP party workers were spotted threatening Doctors, Nurses about mask wearing and other protocols. Question is whether any political party involve in such activity by entering the hospital ? Is is police / officials' works or ruling party's work ? Can the opposition parties do the same ?
However, at IGM maximum people were wearing masks today but could not maintain social distancing. In few other hospitals also similar situations erupted recently. Talking to a patient party, he said, "People are wearing masks but there are so many rushes that the crowd can't be controlled. All are wearing masks but that's it. No social distancing can be seen".
A Doctor also said, "There is no control in the crowd and nobody is listening to anything. The Government should take care of the matter as the situation is going out of control".
Last time, during COVID outbreak Tripura Govt ordered private hospitals to make their OPD free. This time during the second wave of COVID, no such decision has been taken yet.
More numbers of security personnels are needed to control the chaos.
