313 Active COVID Positive Cases now in Tripura, Maximum Patients are in Home Isolations : Administration Appealed Masses to follow Social Distancing, Wear Masks : Enforcement Drives Continue

AGARTALA, April 23 (TIWN): 313 Active COVID cases have been reported by District Magistrate of West Tripura Sailesh Yadav till Thursday evening. He also mentioned that around 20 patients are admitted in GB, ILS Hospitals and maximum are in Home isolations. But as the number may go higher, so that the Govt has been appealing to the masses to maintain social distancing and must wear masks.  Already various entry points including Railway, Checkposts, Airports are under alerts and passengers are asked to keep COVID negative reports in hand while arriving. Dr Siddharth Shiva Jaiswal, Tripura Director of National Health Mission has declared that Hapania Fair Ground is all set and designated as COVID Care Centre with 300 bed capacities and out of 300 beds, there will be oxygen supplies in 100 beds.

"Seeing the alarming situation of COVID-19, this decision has been taken. 24 hours there will be ambulance services. Also in Badharghat and other Centres will be gradually activated", said Dr Siddharth Shiva Jaiswal.

"From 24th April who will make entry in Tripura via Rail, Train or Checkpost, pre-test for COVID is mandatory with a record of previous 72 hrs or their COVID test will be on spot", he said.

"Maximum 100 persons may be allowed in marriage/ birthday & other social functions both in public or private places.  Maximum 20 persons should be allowed in funeral last rites related gathering. Persons above the age of 65 are advised to remain indoors unless required to go for essential services. Any violation will be counted under action".  Dr Siddharth Shiva Jaiswal.
