AGARTALA, March 19 (TIWN): The dead toll among 10323 teachers is on rise whereas so far 89 teachers have died. One more teacher among 10323 has breathed her last named Debjani Roy Choudhury. She was a resident of Sabroom, Satchand area and was suffering hugely from mental and financial troubles. Before 2 days, she fell sick and in serious condition, she was admitted in GB Hospital but today morning, she died. 10323 teachers today gathered at the City Centre and paid tribute to her soul. Before election, the incumbent Chief Minister, the then BJP President Biplab Deb promised that immediately after the Govt will come, there will be alternative arrangements for the 10323 teachers, but now it has been a year but so far no development has come to the issue.

Yesterday at City Centre, talking to the media, 10323 teacher Dalia Das said, "In the year 2020, 31st March we lost our jobs and today it is 18th March almost a year but the Govt could not do anything for us. The Chief Minister himself promised us to do something for us and after waiting for 2 months we started our agitation at the City Centre but CM neither came to the spot to meet us nor did anything for us. On 27th January, after 51 days of protest, the brutality which was displayed on us, it was witnessed by the whole state. Common men helped us to continue protest and the Govt used lathi charge, water cannon and many are still ill. Debts, bank-loans have gripped the teachers lives and livelihoods. The terminated teachers don't know what to do, how to pay loans and the death toll is on rise. We will plan soon about our next agitation. Total four teachers died recently".

"We want to ask the Govt, how many deaths does this Govt want ? Tomorrow we will pay tribute to the departed shoul and during the Assembly Session, we will have to organize a protest. When the Govt is not thinking about us, why should we think about it ?", said Dalia Das.
