AGARTALA, March 15 (TIWN): Tripura High Court in a landmark verdict on Friday March 12,2021 ( Case No. WPC 200/2020) at Hon. Justice Subhashis Talapatra's court No.2 has upheld freedom-of-speech, press-independence by quashing Look out Circular (LoC) in Indian Airports against Tripura's non-profit news media Tripurainfoway.com (TIWN) Editor Saumen Sarkar. LoC (Look out Circular) was initiated in an illegal manner by Tripura Govt under the direct instructions of CM Biplab Deb alongwith his accomplices OSD Dilip Roy & SP West Manik Lal Das. It has been a rare among the rarest cases where a Chief Minister ordered SP West to isse a LoC against an NRI who has been established in US for decades in high position professionally, just because he questioned Biplab Deb massive corruptions and injustices. Adv. Amitabha Roy Barman and Adv Purushottom Roy Barman fought the case on behalf of the TIWN Editor in High Court.

This Look out Circular (LoC) was imposed without any Court order or following any guidelines of the Central Govt. Honourable High Court has mentioned - 1) LoC itself was issued without the permission of the court.

So, it was illegal 2) Secondly, the passport cancellation requisition itself was illegal, which is violation of the fundamental rights of the Editor. Honourable High Court observed that his fundamental rights were not only violated but also illegal. High Court has ordered Govt to act as per the order within 24 hours of the verdict.

Tripurainfoway.com as an independent media has been functioning from 2014 as a bold and fearless media regardless which political party is in power but since 2018 after the Govt changed all freedom-of-press was curtailed but TIWN continued its functioning independently. Various fake, politically motivated cases were lodged against TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar, his senior citizen parents were harassed multiple times, photographers, journalists, office bearers were threatened, thrashed.

Using police machinery, Biplab Deb Govt wanted to shutdown Tripurainfoway.com news media with false complaints to the domain of the website.  Through IT Dept, Biplab Deb also blocked Tripurainfoway.com media in India and then Court ordred to reopen it.

When everywhere, Biplab Deb failed, illegally he managed an LoC against TIWN Editor to arrest him from Airport, have some photographs in police lockup and court and murder him in the custody. For two years this Look out Circular was continuing and now, Tripura High Court in the bench of Justice Subashish Talapatra has upheld the Citizen's right of TIWN Editor by cancelling the Look out Circular. TIWN related people, journalists, photographers including Editor's senior citizen parents came under severe attack of Bilab Deb as he sent his police officers to harass them above 20 times.

The Govt was that much desperate that not only tapped the personal phones of the journalists but also through police illegally certifying TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar as a criminal sent a police report to the domain of TIWN to shutdown it. When the domain denied to shutdown TIWN website, then at Centre, then the Central Govt blocked TIWN misusing the power at Delhi. Tripurainfoway Social media pages were also blocked many times and recently Govt had filed case in Court to block Tripurainfoway Editor's page again. When Court rejected the plea, Biplab Deb Govt reappealed in High Court and again the plea was dismissed.

TIWN Editor thanked his Lawyers, thanked Hon. Tripura High Court for upholding Law  ! Finally TRUTH won, Democracy won !
