TIWN March 7, 2021
AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN): Tripura's ruling BJP and IPFT Parties were in dialogue exchanges and heated counter speeches against each other through media centering the seat sharing matters, but finally BJP's ally IPFT has announced 18 seats out of 28 seats for the ADC Poll keeping 10 seats vacant. Earlier, BJP wanted to double the ADC seats from this election which was not possible as the High Court asked the Election Commission to declare Election results by May, 2020. Now, centering these 28 seats, when BJP and IPFT were in arguments then IPFT at first aligned with another regional party TIPRA which irked the BJP and then it broke that alliance also due to similar issues.
Today, breaking all barriers of seat sharing, IPFT has announced 18 candidates, keeping 10 seats vacant. IPFT President NC Debbarma said that they are ready for discussion but there will be no compromise further as nomination submission dates are also ahead.
On the other hand, BJP also said that it is ready to fight 28 seats out of 28 alone.
On being asked by the media whether any effect will come to the Ministers' posts if the alliance is in danger, IPFT Minister Mebar Jamatia said, "That BJP knows.......".
Media further asked, whether they are going to participate in Modi's virtual rally at Astabal on 9th March, Mebar Jamatia said, If invitation is given, then they will definitely go as it's the celebration of a Govt formation, not of a party".
