NEW WORK, Feb 16 (TIWN): Northeast Indian State Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb who had been nationally damaging Tripura's name, now expertizing ruining nation's name. Due to his bizarre statements about political plans of his party BJP leadership, neighboring country Sri Lanka has been bound to deliver a statement and the statement came from Election Commission. Embarrassment for Govt of India after Election Commission of Sri Lanka commented against the news reports that Indian ruling party wants to expand BJP Govt in that country. "Any Sri Lankan political party or group is permitted to have external links with any party or group overseas. But our electoral laws do not permit overseas political parties to work here", said Sri Lanka Election Commission. Irony is that, Biplab Deb claimed that the plan of expanding Govt in Sri Lanka, Nepal is of Amit Shah, who is right now the Home Minister of India.Â
Sri Lanka's Election Commission Chairman Nimal Punchihewa on Monday shot down reports of India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) planning to set up a political unit in the island nation, saying the country's electoral law does not permit such an arrangement.
Punchihewa's comments came after media reports quoted Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb as saying that the BJP was planning to extend its footprint in Sri Lanka and Nepal.
On Saturday, Deb said that Amit Shah, when serving as BJP president, had told party leaders that the BJP would establish rule in other regional countries as part of 'Atmanirbhar South Asia' initiative. Deb said the BJP deeply valued the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) partnership.
Yesterday, BJP senior leader Subramanian Swamy reacted against the bizarre statement of Biplab Deb about 'Amit Shah's plan to rule Nepal, Sri Lanka'. Expressing shocks over the news, where Biplab Deb claims that "Amit Shah has been planning to make Govts in Nepal and Sri Lanka", Swamy asked if the CM was joking or being sarcastic. "Was the CM joking? Or sarcastic? He could not be serious," the BJP leader tweeted, reacting to Tripura Chief Minister Deb's statement.
