AGARTALA, Jan 2 (TIWN): 10323 Teachers have continued their agitation on Day 27 amid many violent attacks came on the teachers already and State Govt gave no call for any discussion yet. On Day 26th evening, while addressing media, Teacher Ajay Debbarma said, "It was Chief Minister Biplab Deb who promised us about solving our problems by 2 months. We wrote letter to CM and Governor both after Chief Minister's promise to us was not kept. But CM twice denied to meet us and Governor Ramesh Bais's office said that due to COVID he can not meet us. But our question is, how amid COVID-19 political programmes are going on ? How can the CM and Governor join in programmes amid COVID-19 ? Is COVID-19 applied only for 10323 teachers events ? But we can challenge the Govt that 10323 teachers had massive contribution in Educational development in state. Even indigenous students got massive scores in various subjects due to our dedications in deep rural areas. Many are Master degree holders, successful today and now we have to give test for our credibility ?"
It can be noted here that amid Tripura Govt is playing silent role over 10323 teachers protest which has fallen on Day 26, the teachers under Joint Movement Committee has met West District Education Officer Rupan Roy and told him that the teachers will go to schools for joining after 5 days if the Govt does not make any comment in these 5 days.
Meeting the West Dist Education office authority the teachers told him that the teachers will join schools from 6th January, saying, no teacher got termination letter till today. Teacher Bijoy Krisha Saha said, in notification also it is written that their jobs were seized, not terminated. Moreover, Supreme Court only terminated 462 teachers and not all, said the teacher.
The teachers to go to schools for joining on January 6, confirmed JMC. Calling a press meet at the agitation spot, teacher Bimal Saha said, if the Headmasters don't allow the teachers to join schools, then legal action will be taken against them as no termination letter was given to them and in totally illegal manner the teachers were terminated from their posts.
