AGARTALA, Jan 1 (TIWN): Like playing cards-made home, Tripura BJP's Krishna Nagar Party headquarter is collapsing due to the increasing party infighting. BJP's Mandal President for Majlishpur constituency Gauranga Bhowmik was removed from his post who was working for Majlishpur from a long time. He has been working for BJP even before many of the present BJP leadership at State Quarter had joined the BJP party. This incident has created massive resentment among Majlishpur BJP voters, lariyakartas. Sacked Mandal President Gauranga Bhowmik before few months were called by BJP's woman leader (name was not disclosed in the press meet) and she asked him to destroy political career of Sushanta Chowdhury by "hook and crook" but as Gauranga Debnath had completely denied, he was removed from his post. Centering this incident, today MLA Sushanta Chowdhury has resigned from the invitee membership of the Pradesh BJP committee. Gauranga Bhowmik expressed shocks over such decisions of the state office.
What is shocking in this incident is that the Mandal President Gauranga Debnath who has been sacked has just lost his mother and the rituals are not completed. MLA Sushanta Chowdhury asked, "When whole state is busy in New Year celebration, what such happened that such a strong step had to be taken without consulting anyone ?"
In the press meet, Gauranga Debnath was also present and said that his full support is with Sushanta Chowdhury. Instead of focusing on vote banks in its competition with major opposition party CPI-M, Tripura BJP leadership under CM Biplab Deb is more focused on how to puncture the vote banks of own party MLAs whose followers raised slogan 'Biplab Hatao, BJP Bachao'. In such a move without Central BJP's knowledge and local MLA's consults, once again Mandal leaders were changed in Majlishpur constituency which is constituency of MLA Sushanta Chowdhury.
The new Mandal President has been named Sumit Chakraborty.
On the other side, after a successful rally on December 27, Sushanta Chowdhury again to kick off a youth rally on 3rd January in Majlishpur constituency. Last time, Biplab Deb's group from Agartala rushed to Majlishpur and attempted to stop the rally of Sushanta Chowdhury although, it did not work out and in support of Sushanta Chowdhury public flooded in his rally with BJP's flags in hands and slogan of "Bharat Mata ki Jay". On December 27, massive crowd in support of local MLA Sushanta Chowdhury has flooded the Majlishpur constituency, amid much attempts by faction group to stop the rally. At Majlishpur rally in support of MLA Sushanta Chowdhury, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, MLA Ram Prasad Pal, MLA Diba Chandra Hrangkhawl, MLA Asish Saha, MLA Asish Das, BJP State leader Manik Das and other many top leaders of the party were present. Today, a similar change was brought in the constituency of Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarman.
Confirmed sources informed that majority of the BJP MLAs are against Biplab Deb over his immature politics, dictator style of controlling party and governance.
