AGARTALA. Jan 1 (TIWN): Instead of focusing on vote banks in its competition with major opposition party CPI-M, Tripura BJP leadership under CM Biplab Deb is more focused on how to puncture the vote banks of own party MLAs whose followers raised slogan 'Biplab Hatao, BJP Bachao'. In such a move without Central BJP's knowledge and local MLA's consults, once again Mandal leaders were changed in Majlishpur constituency which is constituency of MLA Sushanta Chowdhury. This decision came after controversy erupted centering a CPI-M member was given a high post in the same constituency and Sushanta Chowdhury condemned it. Earlier also, Bordowali MLA Asish Saha raised question, why without talking to the local MLAs, Mandal leaders are changed statewide ? But, even after Central BJP asked CM Biplab Deb to more focus on Governance instead of party affairs, but Biplab Deb's group continue effort to harm the rebel MLAs, which was reflected after FIR was filed against MLA Sudip Barman after he installed former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's statue in the Cancer hospital.
The new Mandal President has been named Sumit Chakraborty. On the other side, after a successful rally on December 27, Sushanta Chowdhury again to kick off a youth rally on 3rd January in Majlishpur constituency. Last time, Biplab Deb's group from Agartala rushed to Majlishpur and attempted to stop the rally of Sushanta Chowdhury although, it did not work out and in support of Sushanta Chowdhury public flooded in his rally with BJP's flags in hands and slogan of "Bharat Mata ki Jay".
On December 27, massive crowd in support of local MLA Sushanta Chowdhury has flooded the Majlishpur constituency, amid much attempts by faction group to stop the rally.
