AGARTALA, Dec 25 (TIWN): While giving speech at Bamutia’s Farmers’ meet today, CM Biplab Kumar Deb allegedly repeated that CPIM party used to give social pensions to ghosts.
However, on Nov 20, a video went viral which showed 98-year old Nihar Bala Debi crying helplessly before camera because the ruling Govt. canceled her social pension soon after they came to power.
Seeing the video, Tripurainfoway Editor immediately managed to speak to the old lady from USA and took her responsibilities. He provided blankets, food items, medicines to her and assured to help her throughout.
Soon after BJP-IPFT Govt. came into power, the administration was mobilized to scrutinize the genuine beneficiaries before enlarging the list. The BJP had promised before 2018 Assembly election to increase social pension of Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2000 but after 33-months of JUMLA’s rule, it has yet to be implemented.
Besides amid serious disagreement from ruling and opposition party leaders, Deb's Govt. has discarded 50,000 social pension holders making them deprived.
