AGARTALA, Dec 25 (TIWN): The strained relation between the chief minister and his own party MLAs has widened further after the state government registered an FIR against Rebel MLA Sudip Roy Barman centering Vajpayee’s statue installation. The schism in the BJP’s state unit is now evident as majority of party leaders have joined Barman’s rally and marched to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cancer Centre to install Vajpayee’s statue.

Amid facing FIRs, Barman who believes more in deeds than in words (unlike our chief minister) organized blood donation camps and rallies, marched with majority MLAs, and installed the first statue of Vajpayee in Tripura.

This is the third time Biplab Deb’s Govt. registered FIR against Barman in past 6 months. The 1st case was registered when he visited the COVID Care Centres wearing a PPE kit to tackle the massive chaos occurred due to negligence of both treatment and management.

After 2-months, he was accused when COVID patients were dying due to lack of oxygen and Barman reached there late at night with Biomedical Engineer after getting SOS calls from on-duty doctors and patients.

However, ignoring the present allegations of unlawful construction inside hospital premise, MLA Roy Barman claimed this event as an attempt to pay the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee a tribute from Tripura People.

Talking about Biplab, Barman said, “The Governor had given consent. I also called the CM but he didn’t receive it and had also written a letter but no response came.”
