AGARTALA, Nov 1 (TIWN): The 10323 teachers will stage protest in the Gramin Bank Head Office at Abhoynagar on 3rd October seeking relief from interest rates which are mounting high amid the teachers are left jobless for last 7 months. Addressing media, on behalf of 'Amra 10323', former teacher Dalia Das said, "We are going in mass demonstration as we have met the Gramin Bank authority many times. We have requested them not to impose the interest till our jobs are given. They were very sympathetic with us but when our accounts were freezed they helped us but now we are unable to even arrange food at home and how will we give the interest ? We are harassed, getting phone calls to clear loans. We tried to meet the authority and they are not helping us anymore. Thus, this is our final decision that we will go in mass demonstration on Tuesday (November 1) before the head office".
"The EMI and interests should be pardoned. There are massive suicidal attempts in our group. We are not going to any protest right now as on 23rd October the head of the Govt had assured us to give back our jobs. But, right now we are not going in protests but the bank interest issue is turning critical", said Daila Das.
