AGARTALA, Oct 15 (TIWN): The helpless family members of the deceased man who was beaten to death by mob, blocked road on Wednesday evening seeking justice. The man met with an accident on Saturday and mistakenly hit a woman by his bicycle and got beaten mercilessly which made him succumb to death on today morning. Today 2 accused persons were produced before the Court.

The family members on Wednesday evening blocked road, cried, screamed and sought justice for this cruel act. Later police came and controlled the situation.

Reportedly on last Saturday, in Agartala Barjala's Mahan Club area, one Arun Kumar Das (45), resident of TRTC, Barjala was going to his home and on the way, by mistake he hit with Pratima Sutradhar and she fell on road. Her child was also reportedly fell down and received minor injury. After she fell down, she started screaming and made a huge gathering. Then local people gathered there and beaten Arun Kumar Das, thrashed him injuring severely in his head. At first Arun Kumar Das was taken to GB Hospital, where he had undergone surgery. Today morning, Arun Kumar Das passed away. He was then taken to ILS hospital also later but could not be survived. Family has sought justice and severe punishment to Pratima Sutradhar and others who had beaten him. Local MLA, Dr. Dilip Das has visited ILS hospital to meet the victim family. FIR has been lodged against the murder accused persons.
