AGARTALA, Sep 27 (TIWN): As a part of nationwide protest curriculum of the Congress against the BJP led Central Government for passing farm bills in parliament, Tripura Pradesh Congress calls to conduct protest curriculum on 28 September. On Sunday in a press-meet, Congress President Pijush Kanti Biswas requested all the congress members across the State and the farmers and workers to be present in front of Gandhi Idol near Circuit House. Biswas said, "I request all the congress workers and the farmers of our state to be present on 28 September at 11 am. From there we will conduct a protest rally and will march to Govornor house. There we will place a deputation to the Govornor of Tripura addressing the president of the Country against this anti-farmer bill of Modi Government."
The three farm Bills i.e. i) Farmers produce Trade and Commerce (promotion and facilitation) Bill 2020.
ii) Farmers (Empowerment and protection) Agreement on price Assurance Farm Services Bill, 2020 and
iii) Essential Commodities (amendment) Bill 2020, that has been brought by Modi government were cleared by voice vote in the Parliament even as the opposition protested and stormed the well of the House seeking that they be sent to a select committee.
This bill erupted agitation across the whole country and especially in Punjab.As a part of National Congress's curriculum Tripura Pradesh Congress also showed their resentment against this 'anti-farmer' bill. Biswas said that this farm Bill will work against the farmers of this Country and will leave a huge impact of misery on them.
