AGARTALA, Sep 13 (TIWN): Although the government and officials claimed that 80% of water logging problem has been solved in AMC under Agartala Smart City project but the situation says the opposite. A little rain turned the city roads in a miserable condition. Water logging in different areas made pathetic condition of public transportation in AMC on Sunday.
The road from Netaji Chowmuhni to Bigbazar became a mini-pond after today's rain. This indicates the extreme negligence of authority towards maintenance of roads, making common people suffer. The road became very unhygienic and dangerous for public movement. Many skin disease can occur caused by dirty rain water.
If the condition of Capital remains such pathetic over years then how miserable will be the situation in remote areas, asked the common people. Ironically, before 2018 election Tripura's present CM Biplab Deb was seen walking in water-logged roads with his team and promising people that the roads will be taken care of once they come to the power. But after more than two and half years of Tripura's BJP government's rule the CM and his promises nowhere to be seen completed.
