AGARTALA, Sep 10 (TIWN): On Wednesday a newly opened liquor shop was destroyed by a group of local women. Their demand was not to open a liquor shop in their locality, that can affect the environment of that area. The incident took place in south market area of Bishramganj under Sipahijala District.
Reportedly, the shop owner identified as Bhola Saha faced restraint from opening this shop before also from the women of that locality. But neglecting that he opened the shop on Thursday. After that a local group of women came to that spot with lathis and destroyed all the foreign liquor bottles.
Their problem with the liquor shop was, the place where the shop wS situated is allegedly adjacent to two schools of that locality. And according to them, liquor shop in a locality can affect the environment of that area.
In this incident, the shop owner has faced a huge loss. The market price of those destroyed liquors will be more than 5 lakhs, said the owner.
