AGARTALA, Sep 7 (TIWN): Tripura’s sacked Health Minister Sudip Barman who was removed from the Cabinet even after he produced report card on Health Dept’s performance has visited GB hospital today and talked to the authority there. His visit was followed by a press conference on September 4, where he suggested Biplab Deb Govt to focus on linking IT in the hospitalization system and for betterment of the Health Services. But the authority till now has not taken any action after his press conference. Supporting MLA Sudip Barman’s stand, today MLA Sushanta Chowdhury also visited GB hospital along with Sudip Barman and talked to the Medical superintendent. Talking to media after the visit, Sushanta Chowdhury said, “I support what our former Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman has said and his suggestions are worthy to be taken for the Health dept. This is also true that the situation is now going out of control. Our neighboring state Assam is far more succeeded in COVID control. It has cited an example”.

Former Health Minister Sudip Barman told media, as no action has been taken even after his press conference and patients’ conditions remained pathetic in the hospital, thus he had to raise the issue again.

Barman has stressed upon IT development in the Health Sector which he already said in September 4 press meet.

“I met GB’s MS and Doctor Subashish Das. I asked them about the mismanagement of the hospital and why people are dying and Doctors have no idea what’s going on inside. On yesterday a pregnant woman called me, who had to bring food from 5th floor to 3rd floor and the food was also damaged”, said Barman.

Sudip Barman also raised question, why serious, asymptomatic patients are kept together ?

Sudip Barman also has told the Doctor that as this hospital belongs to his constituency, then if by few days, things are not changed then situation may be worsened. The hospital authority allegedly has reported MLA Sudip Barman about lack of help, cooperation from the administration.
