AGARTALA, Aug 27 (TIWN): 3 days old baby who died allegedly in heavy negligence in Tripura’s biggest Govt hospital – GB hospital on August 12, 2020 although had shaken the whole state but Tripura Govt has totally failed to take any action or to conduct a proper investigation to the case. Today, baby’s mother Papia Kar, W/O-Diptanu Saha, resident of ONGC, Hapania area has filed FIR in the NCC PS against Dr. Rajib Debbarma seeking justice to the issue. The family will next go the Court for the next proceeding of legal action. Talking to media after lodging FIR, the victim mother Papia Kar stated, “The baby whole day was healthy, cried and smiled but suddenly Doctor came and said that COVID-19 test is necessary for the baby. I on spot asked him not to do as it’s a little baby and it can’t take it. It may have breathing problem. Amid my total objections, the baby was taken for COVID tests and with a thick pipe it was tested and blood came out”.

“When I told the Doctor he asked me to feed milk to the baby but it was not taking. But, still the Doctor said, nothing will happen and the Doctor went and by  minutes milks came out of its nose. Then I continued to call the Doctor but he did not come and I went in search of him but he did not meet me. At last a nurse was sent and she told me that the baby died”, Papia Kar said.

“Then I was locked inside the hospital but anyhow I came out and then seeing it, my mother told me that it died”, she said.

“My wife was very ill till now. Today, she is little recovered. So today we have filed FIR”, said Diptanu Saha, father of the dead baby.
