AGARTALA, Aug 25 (TIWN): Students Organisation 'Voice of the Voiceless" is today observing one year anniversary of the organization on Tuesday. The organisation is created by the students of the State, held various protests and programmes specially in cases of crimes against women. As the name indicates, the organisation works for the Voiceless and deprived section of the society whose voices have been suppressed.
Eminent Advocate of Tripura High Court Purushottam Roy Barman attended the programme. He is also the Secretary of the Human Rights Commission. The advocate congratulate the organisation members for completion of one year. He said, "Students are the future of the nation. And I feel glad that our students are concerned about the society and the deprived people that they are contributing a part of their life beside studies. I encourage them to continue the noble work dedicatedly and inspire the youth of the State."
"I also encourage the students to keep a track of the criminal activities against women and children and create a database. Nowadays, it is seen that a section of power holders are misusing their powers for money. Instead of helping the victim the hide the crime and don't even make a proper chargesheet also. In that case, if the students help those deprived people then the society will never loose it's dignity."
The program was held in the office of the organisation. The President of the Voice of the voiceless, Koushik Das, vice president Abhishek nomo and other members were present in the program. The President said that work for the deprived section will be continued in future days across the whole state.
